Tolman Leads Oregon Ducks To Win Over Portland With Six RBI’s

The Oregon Ducks, fresh off a sweep of New Mexico entertained Portland on Tuesday night at PK Park. Oregon Head Coach George Horton handed the ball to Freshman Jacob Corn who scattered seven hits in seven inning and giving up just one run. That run would tie the game in the seventh. Oregon was off to a fast start.

Mitchell Tolman helped the Ducks to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning with an RBI Double. Oregon extended their lead to 5-2 in the eighth inning and never looked back. Again it was Tolman who hit a bases clearing three RBI double. For the game he was responsible for six runs batted in to go along with two doubles. He finshed the game three for five.

Leadoff man Matt Euriste is coming into his own early in the season allowing Oregon to have success on the basepads. He was two for four on Tuesday night with an RBI and has extended his hitting streak to five straight games. Oregon now hits the road for a three game series this weekend at UC Santa Barbara.

The games this weekend will not be televised. Game one is scheduled for Friday at 2pm Pacific Time.
