The municipal hall in Prague 10 is to request Prague’s city hall to carry out an EIA study on plans to reconstruct and extend the Květ shopping center. If the study turns out negatively, the district would turn down a bid from the Swiss developer Fostys to buy the necessary land. Discussions between the district’s leadership, the developer and local residents have been ongoing since 2013, with several meetings having already been held. Some groups are in favor of the center’s refurbishment, if it includes new parking places, while others oppose the project. The center is privately owned, however the public space around it belongs to the district.
