For the Oregon Women’s Basketball team the season started with a lot of promise. Entering the season there was a new Head Coach with a new system. We knew there would be growing pains along the way. The team got off to a solid non-conference start but then pretty much fell apart in Pac-12 Conference play. Entering the game on Saturday they had one conference win and seven losses. That was going to change.

Oregon faced a UCLA team with a similar issue in rebuilding and earned their second Pac-12 Conference win of the year in dramatic fashion. Jillian Alleyne scored the winning bucket with 1.8 seconds left to seal the victory. At halftime the Oregon Ducks were down 42-33, but came back in the second half. For the game Alleyne looked like the player we all know. She had a monster game with thirty points to go along with twenty-five rebounds.

Oregon is now 9-11 on the season. With twenty-five rebounds Alleyne now ranks third in single-game history with her performance against the UCLA Bruins. The Bruins shot forty-one percent on Friday which was better than the twenty-five percent Oregon held them to at Pauley Pavilion earlier this season.

The Oregon Ducks now host USC on Monday night at 5pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks.
