Oregon has lost out on Five-star Point Guard JaQuan Lyle. In September he commited to play for Dana Altman and the Oregon Ducks, but an enrollment issue did not allow him to be added to the roster right away. Since then things were apparently being worked out, but word came yesterday that Lyle changed his mind and gave his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

After leaving Oregon he enrolled at IMG Academy and will be a Buckeye for next season according to College Basketball Talk. He becomes the fifth commitment of the 2015 class for Ohio State. Oregon tightened their standards for enrollment following allegations in the Spring of 2014. Ray Kosongo, another Oregon recruit was also denied admission to the school has decided to play elsewhere.

The Oregon Ducks shot themselves in the foot in missing out on Lyle, but their season in 2014 so far has been relatively successful. The Ducks are 14-7 on the season and 4-4 in the Pac-12, currently tied for fifth place with UCLA who Oregon beat last weekend at home. The road has not been kind to Oregon in the Pac-12 season as they are 0-3 in Conference play.

Dana Altman will look for a road win on Friday night against Arizona State before returning home to Eugene next week with games against Washington and Washington State.
