ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – In anticipation of snow accumulation and freezing temperatures this weekend, the City of St. Louis is preparing to open its emergency cold weather shelter for the homeless.

The shelter, located at 12th and Park Recreation Center, will be open Sunday and Monday from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. to accommodate men, women, and children who cannot find shelter.

To date, the overflow shelter has provided a hot meal and warm place to sleep for approximately 1,773 people over 15 nights this winter.
