Coming off their worse loss in the Dana Altman Era from Wednesday night against Arizona, the Oregon Ducks will face Arizona State in a rare Friday night game thanks to Super Bowl festivities in the greater Phoenix area. Despite the loss the Ducks still have a potent offense thanks to young talent. Freshman are accounting for just over forty percent of scoring and the team will need someone to step up to get back on track.

Arizona State is led by Senior Shaquielle McKissic who is averaging close to eleven points per game and is hitting one-third of his shots from long range this season. The Sun Devils are winners of three of their last four games including a win over Oregon State from Wednesday night. Meanwhile, the road will have to become a place of winning for the Oregon Ducks.

Oregon has just four home games remaining at Matthew Knight Arena with the remainder of the schedule including six games on the road. Following Friday’s game the Ducks will return home looking to avenge the losses to Washington and Washington State on the road just a few weeks ago.

Dana Altman’s team is not short of talent this season led by Joseph Young and Dwayne Benjamin the Ducks put together their most complete game of the season last weekend against UCLA. As a team they shot close to eighty percent in the first half on the way to a win over the Bruins. One area plaguing Oregon this season is points given up inside the paint. They gave up fifty against Arizona on Wednesday night in a blowout loss.

A win against Arizona State on the road would be a good start. If Oregon can go on a run and put together a winning streak starting tonight the NCAA Tournament may still be within reach, but time is running out to make an impression.

Oregon and Arizona State tipoff at 5pm Pacific Time Friday night. The game will be on Pac-12 Networks.
