The most substantial update comes by the way of speed. Rather than downloading all of your notes, the app caches all the data about your notes. By indexing the notational metadata, like tags, titles and thumbnails, version 2.0 can quickly search for any information that you've stored on the service, without first having to access the Evernote servers.

A new search magnifying glass is featured in the top right corner of every screen. Aside from common search functions, like saved searches, it enables searching for notes tagged with geodata taken near the user's current location.

Also included in the release are offline notebooks for premium users and the ability to search Evernote from the Android Google Search widget. Evernote 2.0 for Android is available now from the Android marketplace, or by scanning the below QR code.
