The Oregon Ducks enter 2015 with several question marks on Defense. One of those is at the Defensive End position, currently occupied by Arik Armstead could be filled by a new comber in Canton Kaumatule. According to 247Sports Kaumatule will likely enroll early at the University of Oregon following the Under Armor Freshman Game. The article also said the Class of 2015 Defensive End has signed a Financial Aid agreement with the U of O. National Signing Day is not until the first week of February, but it would not hurt to have Kaumatule in the fold beforehand.

Armstead is apparently leaning toward departing Oregon for the National Football League following the season and having Kaumatule could mean a starting Freshman at the Defensive End position for 2015 if Armstaead does depart. Kaumatule becomes the second member of the Class of 2015 to announce early enrollment with Quarterback Travis Waller announcing last week he would enroll early.

Waller could also find himself in the Starting role in 2015 of current Quarterback Marcus Mariota decides to leave early for the NFL. Mariota has said he will make the decision at the conclusion of the season.

Oregon still has work to do this season. The Ducks face Florida State in the Rose Bowl, the first Semi-Final in the College Football Playoff on New Year’s Day. (2pm Pacific Time, ESPN)
