The 2014 season for the Oregon Ducks Football team has been a memorable one so far. One memory many of us wish we did not have was seeing Tight End Pharoah Brown crumple to the ground in the second half against the Utah Utes. It was a game that Oregon would win, but several Oregon players including Brown would miss some time. Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu would return the following week, after a bye, against Colorado. Starting Center Hroniss Grasu said that week in practice he would be back in an Oregon Ducks uniform. That could happen this week against Florida State.

Saturday’s practice was in helmet’s only in the sunshine in California and there was a special guest on the sideline. He watched most of practiced unnoticed, but when it was over he was crowded by teammates for hugs and handshakes. Pharoah Brown returned to his Oregon family. He was on crutches with a brace on his knee.

According to GoDucks.com, Brown said his medical progress “is coming along. Every time I go to the doctor’s office, they’re impressed with my progress so far. That’s always a good sign, when you can impress a group of great doctors.” No timetable has been set for his return, but following such a horrible injury it was good to see him in good spirits.

Oregon will meet Florida State on New Year’s Day in the first Semi-final of the College Football Playoff at the Rose Bowl(2pm Pacific Time, ESPN)
