Over fifty-three hundred showed up at Matthew Knight Arena last night to watch the Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team pick up an Overtime victory over Santa Clara 82-72. The Ducks led most of the first half. Senior Joseph Young led with 25 points and missed a free throw that would have won the game in regulation. He made one of two shots.

Freshman Casey Benson played a key role going three for five down the stretch and getting two steals to help seal the win for Oregon and Jalil-Abdul Bassit added seven points to help give Oregon the win. One player who has had a big impact this season on the Defensive end of the ball is Freshman Jordan Bell.

"“Obviously it will only make us better as a team. We just had to continue to make plays down the stretch and continue to keep fighting. We got a stop defensively, which was huge and we made free throws at the end.”Benson on the win against UC Santa Barbara"

Bell continued his climb up the Oregon Record Books, he added three on the night and how has 39 on the season, good enough for 5th in Oregon History. Last season Oregon has as a team had one-hundred eighteen blocks for the entire season. Bell has eclipsed thirty before the end of the non-conference season.

The Oregon Ducks return to action next Monday night as they wrap up the non-conference slate against UC Irvine.
