Oregon Ducks Look for Balance Against Santa Clara

The Oregon Ducks enter Monday’s matchup with Santa Clara on a three game winning streak and follow with a less than stellar performance against Delaware State. The Ducks did beat the Hornets, but that performance against one of the better teams in the Pac-12 Conference will not have the same result. Oregon has a few games to get things cleaned up before Pac-12 play begins.

It starts with a big test from Santa Clara tonight at Matthew Knight Arena. It will be just the second game played between the two teams in the last twenty-five years. Senior Joseph Young seems to have found his stroke and is averaging nineteen points per game this season, including twenty-three against Delaware State. On the Defensive end Freshman Jordan Bell is steadily climbing the Oregon Record Books when it comes to blocked shots – he moved into the top ten and now sits at eighth on the list.

Another Freshman, Dillon Brooks is also making his mark and is second in the Pac-12 Conference in scoring with over fourteen points per game.

Oregon enters at 8-3 on the season, UCSB comes in at 5-5. Santa Barbara last won a game against Oregon in 1989. The Ducks beat the Gouchos when they played in 2010 72-70.

Oregon and UCSB take the court Monday at 6pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
