Alleyne Scores Pac-12 Record Nineteenth Double Double in Loss

The Oregon Women’s Basketball team coming off a double overtime win against UC Santa Barbara on Thursday night played another game on Sunday afternoon at home down to the final minutes but fell to Fresno State at Matthew Knight Arena 68-59. Oregon had sixteen turnovers in the game that led to twenty points for Fresno State. One of the positives for the Oregon Ducks, Senior Jillian Alleyne had another double-double this season, this one her nineteenth also set a Pac-12 Conference record.

Alleyne scored twenty-six points in the loss to go with sixteen rebounds on the afternoon for Oregon. She also had two steals and three blocks. The Bulldogs took a ten point lead into halftime and pulled away following a tie at fifty-five despite a good effort by the Ducks to get back into the game.  Alex Sheedy had a good game for Fresno State with twenty-five points to go with six rebounds.

Oregon sits in the lower half of the Pac-12 Conference entering the final non-conference game with Oregon State in first place and ranked sixteenth followed by two 10-1 teams in Arizona State and Washington. USC is 8-3 and UCLA is in the basement at 4-6.

The loss snaps a four game winning streak for the Oregon Ducks who will take their Christmas Break before facing Seattle University on December 29th at 7pm Pacific Time. Seattle will be the Ducks final non-conference foe this season as Pac-12 Conference play will begin on January 2nd for Oregon on the road at USC and UCLA.
