Points that Make A Realtor Different from A Broker

Anyone who has been in the real estate business know that this type is not that simple nor it is that complicated. It can be described as both exciting and challenging. However there are some terms that may confuse you such as realtor, broker and real estate agent . The coldwell bankerbain realtor company can even guide you with every bit of detail as to not get you confused with such terms.

Let us start with the title of real estate agent, this is actually a start career to become a realtor, in other words a the real estate agent is considered as the first job position that should be achieved first before becoming a realtor. The work of a real estate agent is different than that of the realtor. He or she should join first a real estate brokerage, this brokerage is supervised by a broker. The supervision is important especially when transacting business with real estate clients. A realtor on the other hand works independently. The career of a realtor is achieved but it is not a requirement, you can be a realtor if you want to be. The similarities between realtors and real estate agents is that they do the same type of transactions but it should not come as a confusion since there are distinct differences between these two careers in real estate. For one to truly become a certified and trustworthy realtor, he or she must have membership with the National Association of Realtors. Commonly known as NAR, this is an association that holds and maintains high standard practice based on the code of ethics and standards of practice that they avidly follow and implement. The realtors who are members of the association should adhere to the 17 point code plus the realtors themselves can also have membership of other states and local associations that are concerned with such trade. This is implemented for the purpose of protecting the clients, in a way for example if a client has any complaint related to ethics, he or she may file the complaint to the NAR.

Therefore a real estate agent can't just call himself or herself a realtor. A broker is totally different with the two since a broker have already passed a license exam and have achieved educational requirements as well as legal ones. They should also have a working experience of at least one year. The coldwell banker bain realtor company have certainly trustworthy realtors to help you out with real estate issues and concerns.
