The Oregon Ducks had a rough night in New York against Michigan. The Wolverines pushed to the basket for the entire game on Dana Altman’s team and were successful at getting to the basket just enough for a 70-63 win over Oregon on Monday night in the Progressive Legends Classic. Zak Irwin and Caris Lavert had nineteen and eighteen points respectively for the Wolverines who move to 4-0 on the season.

Oregon did some good things, Joseph Young took some time to warm up after slow start and finished with twenty points, leading all scorers for the Ducks. Dwayne Benjamin, who had eleven rebounds in the game was lost to an ankle injury which is a cause for concern for a team playing this season with a minimum number of players. The road does not get any easier if Benjamin can’t play for a few games. The Ducks take on VCU this afternoon.

Oregon will be playing with a light bench against another fast team that likes to run up and down the court. It will be interesting to see how Altman adapts his lineup on Tuesday. Oregon and VCU take the court at the the Barclays Center at 4:30pm PT on ESPNU.
