Alleyne Picks Up Forty-Third Career Double Double in Loss to North Carolina

The Oregon Women’s Basketball team entered the game on Sunday against the eleventh ranked North Carolina Tar Heels at a disadvantage. Oregon had only played one game this season. North Carolina entered the game 3-0 after defeating both UCLA and Oklahoma State on their home floor before coming to Eugene to take on Oregon with a 1-0 record after beating Utah State last Sunday.

Oregon used early Tar Heel Turnovers to their advantage in the first half to take a 29-28 lead into halftime. In the first half the Ducks shot close to twenty-eight percent from the three point line with UNC putting up twelve shots and landing just two for sixteen percent. The second half saw the Tar Heels pull away and with ten minutes left in the game the control was theirs leading 58-37 over Oregon.

Alleyne had seventeen points to go with sixteen rebounds. Lexi Bando finished with twelve. Oregon lost 76-59.

points for Oregon. Attendance for the game against North Carolina was the most well attended by fans in two years for a Women’s Basketball game at Matthew Knight Arena.

Oregon would fall to 1-1 on the season. The Ducks host Portland State on Tuesday night before heading to Las Vegas for the Southpoint Thanksgiving Shootout to face Central Michigan and American before returning home to take on Portland on Friday December 5th.
