Oregon Ducks vs Colorado Buffaloes: Three Things I’ll Be Watching

It is Senior Day for the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium and Oregon, with College Football Playoff hopes on the line welcome in Colorado. The Buffs enter with a 2-7 record looking for their first Pac-12 Conference win of the year. This team differs from last season in several ways. They mav have losses, but they are playing competitive football this season. Oregon needs to stay focused today and not lose track of their game next weekend at Oregon State. What am I looking for today?

Could Marcus Mariota Be Playing His Final Game At Autzen Stadium?

The question has been asked for weeks and we most likely won’t have an answer for some time yet. If he leaves Oregon after this season he will leave as one of the top quarterbacks in the history of the program. He has thrown for over twenty seven hundred yards this season and twenty nine touchdowns. He is also a leading candidate for the Heisman Trophy this season. Distractions like the above can get in the way, but not if he takes care of business against Colorado.

Can Doug Brenner Show He is the Center of the Future for Oregon?

Against Utah, Starting Center and Senior Hroniss Grasu went down with a leg/ankle injury. He spoke with the media earlier this week and said he won’t be playing today. Brenner will start at Center on Saturday. His last performance was shaky. Snaps to Mariota appeared to be thrown low. I’m sure that aspect was worked out this week in practice.

Can the Oregon Defense Get Some Interceptions Against Colorado?

The Oregon Ducks Defense has found opportune times this season to step up and shut down the opposing team. Today will be the last chance for Seniors Ifo Ekpre-Olomu and Defensive End Tony Washington to play in front of the home fans. Can they come up with an unforgettable performance?

Oregon and Colorado kickoff at 1:30pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
