Statistically Speaking: Oregon Ducks vs Colorado Buffaloes

The Oregon Ducks host Colorado for Senior Day on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. The team suffered injuries a few weeks ago in a win at Utah and lost Tight End Pharoah Brown for the season. Cornerback Ifo Ekpre-Olomu also left with an injury and Center Hroniss Grasu is recovering and will not play this week against the Buffs.

Colorado is struggling this season and are currently on a six game losing streak, but it is important that Oregon not overlook them. Statistically Colorado is just ahead of Oregon with two-hundred ninety nine yards per game this season. The Oregon Ducks are just behind them. Colorado Quarterback and fellow Hawaiian to Oregon Ducks Quarterback Marcus Mariota, Sefo Liufau has thrown for over twenty-eight hundred yards and twenty six touchdowns this season. He has also been sacked fourteen times. (As of this report he has not been cleared to play yet after suffering a concussion last weekend against Arizona.)

Junior Nelson Spruce is the Wide Receiver to watch this weekend. He has over one-thousand yards this season to go with eleven touchdowns. Spruce has had four one-hundred yard games this season and had eight-nine last weekend in a loss at Arizona. On the ground Colorado averages one-hundred sixty one yards per game with two Running Backs in Michael Adkins II and Phillip Lindsay.

The concern for Oregon is one they had earlier this season, the Offensive Line. Doug Brenner did a solid job when Grasu left with injury, but it was clear there were issues with low snaps. I would expect that issue has been fixed this week in practice.

The Oregon Ducks are in the home stretch and right where they need to be. Saturday will be filled with emotion as we say goodbye to Oregon’s Senior Class. AutzenZoo will have Live Coverage starting at 12:30 PT from Autzen Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30pm PT on Pac-12 Networks.
