PAC-12 Football Weekend Recap Week 9

It was another exciting weekend of PAC-12 football with Oregon opening the weekend with a win in Santa Clara over Cal. The game of the weekend was in Salt Lake City between USC and Utah which came down to the final moments.

Here are all the results from this weekend of PAC-12 conference play.

Friday, October 24 –

6 Oregon Ducks (7-1, 4-1 PAC-12) 59 v. California Golden Bears (4-4, 2-4 PAC-12) 41 game in Santa Clara: It was 38-28 Oregon at half of this high scoring game. But the second half at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara saw the visitors outscore Cal 21-13 as the Ducks defense stiffened up. Marcus Mariota threw his first interception of the season but still completed 18-of-30 passes for 326 yards with five touchdown passes. Royce Freeman ran for 112 with two scores. Daniel Lasco rushed for 85 yards while catching eight passes for 101 yards in the defeat with a TD. Next up for No. 19 Utah is a home game versus No. 20 Southern California (5-2, 4-1 PAC-12) at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1. Oregon State travels to Palo Alto against Stanford (4-3, 2-2 PAC-12) at 12:30 pm/ESPN2.

Saturday, October 25 –

Oregon State Beavers (4-3, 1-3 PAC-12) 14 @ Stanford Cardinal (5-3, 3-2 PAC-12): Stanford had this game on cruise control leading by 21 at halftime. The Cardinal defense held Oregon State to 221 total yards with 209 coming via the pass. Kevin Hogan threw for 277 yards with two touchdowns. Sean Mannion and Luke Del Rio each saw action with neither being able to penetrate the tough Stanford D. No. 25 UCLA is at Colorado (2-5, 0-4 PAC-12) at Noon/PAC-12 Network. California hosts No. 6 Oregon (6-1, 3-1 PAC-12) on Friday night at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1.

25 UCLA Bruins (6-2, 3-2 PAC-12) 40 @ Colorado Buffaloes (2-6, 0-5 PAC-12) 37 F/2OT: This was the craziest game with UCLA watching a 17-point halftime lead evaporate resulting in Colorado forcing overtime. Brett Hundley had over three hundred total yards of offense (200 passing/110 rushing) including the winning TD in double-OT. It was another so close conference loss for the Buffaloes Sefo Liufau threw for 246 yards with a pair of touchdown passes in the defeat. Colorado hosts No. 25 UCLA (5-2, 2-2 PAC-12) at Noon/PAC-12 Network. No. 20 USC travels to Salt Lake City versus No. 19 Utah (5-1, 2-1 PAC-12).

15 Arizona Wildcats (6-1, 3-1 PAC-12) 59 @ Washington State Cougars (2-6, 1-4 PAC-12) 37: Rich Rod’s team was quick out of the gates scoring 24 first quarter points in the route. Washington State did outscore the Wildcats 21-7 to make the score appear closer. Anu Soloman had 294 through the air with five touchdown passes in the victory. The always exciting Connor Halliday threw it 79 times for 489 and four more TD passes. Washington will host No. 14 ASU (5-1, 3-1 PAC-12) at 7:45 pm/ESPN. No. 9 Oregon travels south to Berkeley for a Friday night match-up at Cal (4-3, 2-3 PAC-12) kickoff will be at 7 pm/FOX Sports 1.

20 Southern California Trojans (5-3, 4-2 PAC-12) 21 @ 19 Utah Utes (6-1, 3-1 PAC-12) 24: This was the best game Saturday with both teams evenly matched. USC lead twice by four points and Utah’s biggest lead was three twice. Cody Kessler threw the go ahead score for the Trojans with 10:18 left but the Utes got a Travis Wilson passing score with eight seconds left. Both running backs went over 100 yards with USC’s Javorius Allen going for 101 and Utah’s Devontee Booker with 102. Stanford hosts Oregon State (4-2, 1-2 PAC-12) at 12:30 pm/ESPN. No. 14 Arizona State travels to Seattle against Washington (5-2, 1-2 PAC-12).

14 Arizona State Sun Devils(6-1, 4-1 PAC-12) 24 @ Washington Huskies (5-3, 1-3 PAC-12) 10: This was a seven point game with a minute left before Armand Perry clinched it for ASU returning an interception for a touchdown. Both defenses stood out on a cold windy night at Husky Stadium in Seattle, neither team was over 300 total yards on defense. In his return Taylor Kelly had 180 yards with two touchdown passes. Shaw Thompson had 98 yards rushing for the Huskies in the home defeat.
