*Job Description*


The School of Computing and Informatics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette invites applications for two highly motivated full-time PhD students to conduct cutting-edge research in the areas of complex systems (including online social and information networks), network security, and network measurement.


The students are expected to (i) conduct high quality research; (ii) cooperate with national/international partners; (iii) present their findings at the international scientific conferences; and (iv) publish in peer-reviewed scientific journals.


The students are required to have (i) an MS degree (or near to completion); (ii) a strong background in the field of Computer Science and Mathematics; (iii) outstanding programming skills; and (iv) excellent writing and communication skills in English.


The School of Computing and Informatics (http://www.cacs.louisiana.edu) has around 30 faculty members with specialties in all of the major branches of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and Information Systems. The School offers B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Informatics, M.S. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering, and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. An M.S. degree in Informatics is under preparation.
