Florida Gators coaching visits during the bye week

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Will Muschamp and his coaching staff they are using the bye week to visit prospects around the country as they try to fend off the negative recruiting that other teams are doing against the Florida Gators.

The coaching staff used Monday, Thursday and Friday to recruit as the other days the coaching staff was coaching up the current Florida Gators players at practice.

With that being said here’s who the coaching staff visited so far and who they plan on visiting on Friday night.

Monday stops

Will Muschamp and defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin visited linebacker Adonis Thomas who decommitted from the Florida Gators on Thursday evening.

Muschamp and Durkin visited Florida offensive line commit Michael Horton on Monday after visiting with Thomas. Horton is considered a solid commit to the Gators at this time.

While on Georgia on Monday, Muschamp and Durkin also visited 2016 cornerback Chad Clay (5-11, 169, Suwanee, GA Peachtree Ridge) who is still looking for a Florida Gators offer.

Offensive line coach Mike Summers visited Florida offensive line commit Tyler Jordan who is the Gators top recruiter for the Florida Gators class.

Cornerbacks coach Travaris Robinson visited Alabama safety commit Ronnie Harrison (6-2, 192, Tallahassee, FL Florida) as the Gators try to convince Harrison to take an official visit to Gainesville.

Thursday stops

Will Muschamp and offensive line coach Mike Summers visited offensive lineman Martez Ivey as the Gators try to remain at the top of his recruitment.

Running backs coach Brian White was at running back Jacques Patrick’s game but it appears the Gators will finish second to Florida State as Patrick will announce his decision on Monday.

Friday stops

Offensive coordinator Kurt Roper visited 2016 quarterback Matt Dame (6-2, 172, Riviera Beach, FL Suncoast) as Dame is still looking for a Florida Gators offer.

Roper is scheduled to visit 2015 Louisville quarterback commit Lamar Jackson (6-2, 185, Boynton Beach, FL High) for his game on Friday as the Gators try to convince Jackson to visit Florida.

Defensive line coach Brad Lawing is scheduled to visit running back Nyheim Hines as Florida is trying to finalize an official visit from Hines.

Special teams coordinator Coleman Hutzler is scheduled to visit offensive lineman Jalen Merrick for his game on Friday. Merrick has Florida and Florida State on top of his recruitment.

Offensive line coach Mike Summers is scheduled to visit Florida State offensive line commit Abdul Bello as the Florida Gators are trying to get a visit from Bello this fall.

Florida offensive line commit George Brown also says that he expects a Florida coach at his school on Friday night.
