Oregon Ducks Dominate Washington Huskies, Freeman With Four Touchdowns

To start the game Oregon had the ball and was stonewalled on their first possession by the Washington Huskies Defense. Shaq Thompson had two tackles in two plays for the Huskies. Oregon would be forced to punt and Washington would begin their first drive on Oregon territory at the forty seven yard line. Several first downs later they would strike first with a thirty yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead.

Oregon would find the endzone on the next drive when Running Back Royce Freeman would find some open space and run twenty five yards to the endzone capping an eighty yard drive for the Oregon Ducks. Washington was not going away early in this one.

Washington would start the next drive with a thirty one yard play and end with another field goal from Van Winkle. It would be his second of the game. Oregon would find themselves with some adversity in some penalties that were no fault but their own on the next drive, but they overcame those to add to their lead.

The Oregon Ducks would take the lead after a 17 play drive and a pitch to Freeman who took it into the endzone from three yards out to give Oregon a 14-6 lead to start the second quarter on a fourth and three play. Washington had to feel a sense of urgency to stay in the game.

The Huskies would move the ball on their next possession but end up punting on fourth down. It was a forty one yard punt and Oregon would start their second drive of the quarter from their own one yard line. Pharoah Brown would take a pass play sixty eight yards but would be penalized for spiking the ball at the end of the play. Oregon would get the ball at the Washington 26 yard lone.

The Oregon Ducks would get the ball to the Washington one yard line for a first down, that was reviewed for the spot. One play later Royce Freeman would take the shuffle pass from Mariota and score from three yards out giving Oregon a 21-6 lead.

On the ensuing drive Washington would move the ball but punt on fourth down. Oregon would get the ball back with plenty of time before the half. Marcus Mariota and the Ducks would get the ball back after an Erick Dargan interception and put it in the endzone again before the end of the first half with Royce Freeman scoring his third touchdown of the night.

At the half it was Oregon Ducks 28, Washington Huskies 6. Huskies would start the second half with the ball.

Washington would start with a fumble on third down and give the ball back to Oregon who would end up with a fourth and short(inches) near the fifty yard line. The Ducks would go for it with Freeman on a twelve yard run to give Oregon a first down. The drive would end in an acrobatic extended catch by Dwayne Stanford in the endzone to give Oregon a 35-6 lead over their Pac-12 North rival.

Washington would again get the ball back and work their way down to the Oregon Ducks forty four yard line. On an end around to John Ross, Cyler Miles and the Huskies would get to the twelve yard line. The Huskies would score making it 35-13 and they would hold the Oregon Ducks on their next possession.

Kikaha would get two sacks on Mariota on the drive giving him a season total of ten and Washington the ball back with just over a minute remaining in the third quarter. To start the fourth quarter Washington would start with the ball, but a drop would be recovered by Oregon and Wide Receiver Darren Carrington would continue his big night for Oregon. Three plays later Royce Freeman would take it in for his fourth touchdown of the night making it 42-13. The drive was started by the fumble recovery by Talia, his second in two weeks.

For the game the Oregon Ducks were dominant on the ground and through the air. Oregon Quarterback Marcus Mariota threw for over three-hundred yards and two touchdowns. Royce Freeman had close to one-hundred fifty yards and four scores for the Oregon Ducks. Passes were crisp, runs were hard and they earned the win over Washington. The tally will now be 4070 days that Oregon has dominated Washington in football(that is if you add a calendar year to today.)
