Faced with low ratings, Fox is pulling Utopia from Tuesdays effective immediately. The reality series will continue to air on Fridays. Utopia‘s regular time slot was Tuesday 8 PM, with a second original airing on Friday for the first six weeks. The big-budget series’ lackluster ratings (0.8 in 18-49 for the past two Tuesday outings) have changed that. Utopia now will air only on Fridays. MasterChef Junior, which was supposed to succeed Utopia on Fridays, now will do the same on Tuesdays starting November 4.
For the next two weeks, Fox will air encores of the season premieres of Family Guy, The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers in the Tuesday 8 PM hour, with postseason baseball taking over the night for the following two weeks, leading to the MasterChef Junior Season 2 debut. Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef offshoot was a breakout last season, averaging a 2.1 rating in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers on Fridays.
