Hackathon to challenge students in computer coding contest

University of Windsor students will have a chance to vie for prizes in a computer coding competition this month. HackWE 3.0 challenges teams to develop innovative apps using open science data.

Top finishers will receive dinner with an expert in app commercialization; admission to a seminar on the subject; or a smartwatch.

A kick-off event is scheduled for Friday, October 17, at the central branch of the Windsor Public Library, with the winners revealed October 26 at the News Café in the Windsor Star offices.

The competition is hosted by WEtech Alliance and Hackforge in partnership with St. Clair College and the University of Windsor. Find details and registration info at www.hackwe3.eventbrite.ca.
