Who has the best football helmet in Michigan? Send us a picture to nominate your favorite

As we move through the fourth week of 2014 high school football season, plenty of questions remain unanswered.

While most fans won't have a say in answering those questions, MLive wants to give readers a chance to solve one of the unknowns: Which football team in Michigan boasts the best helmet design?

Whether your school's helmet features a classic look such as the Muskegon Big Reds' block "M", or a unique logo similar to the likes of the Bay City All Saints Cougars or Ypsilanti Grizzlies, there are undoubtedly some great helmets in Michigan.

Today marks the first day of the competition and we’ve included a photo gallery of 50 helmets from across the state to get things started.

Don’t panic if you don’t see your favorite helmet. You've got until Monday, Sept. 29, to submit your own photo via the form in this post!

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30, the nominations will be unveiled and readers will have a chance to vote for the best helmet.

On Tuesday, Oct. 7, the helmets with the 10 highest vote totals will move onto the final round of voting.

Michigan's champion, decided by the readers, will be crowned the following week on Oct. 14.

Friday night is right around the corner, so grab your camera and snap a picture of what you think is the best helmet. We can’t wait to see all the different nominations!
