Deadline is reporting that The Hub, a joint venture with Discovery Networks and Hasbro, is no more. The channel will be re-branded in “Discovery: XYZ” fashion, most likely Discovery Family. They will also be taking a larger stake of the channel by acquiring Hasbro shares. Hasbro will retain some interest and continue to provide programming from 9 AM – 3 PM, so we should still see Transformers and other programming on the station. Whether or not they will also get prime time slots for first run episodes, not mentioned here. Check the full details over at Deadline and discuss on the forums!

so yet another Discovery channel to replay syndicated repeats.
Extreme Engineering….aired on History , H2, Discovery and now this new soon to be Discovery for kids.
It's amazing this company stays afloat doing glorified repeats on every channel that it airs.
Purple Heart
Huh.

Latest press statement from Hasbro. The change is happening on the 13th of October.
Equestria Daily: The Hub Officially Becoming Discovery Family on October 13 – Programming Detailed
Goodbye HUB, it was nice while it lasted.
Roufuss
…what?
That would make absolutely zero sense, and would be an awful fit.
flatline72
actually thought it was still in being…opps.
The FXX channel or FX channel…dunno which one…has been advertising the airing of the entire simpsons franchise….that would be a good channel to reach out to for transformers also i would think.

So that's what happened, they shouldn't have walked up that hill *backwards*… always walk forward.. face first.
For me, it was extra $$ either but since it was for so many, and in an 'economic downturn' when folks were cutting back, it wasn't a good move.
For a long while, the HUB On Demand was free to watch, obviously later than the original airing, but free to watch, then they cut that out… so folks couldn't watch TF's for instance, without YT or waiting for the DVD. Not good for them either way really.

Umm I don't know how to tell you this but Fox Kids hasn't been a thing in a long time. The only real options for Transformers to air on accessible networks are on Disney, Nick or CN.

Personally , I 'd love to see hasbro go back to the roots of Beast wars (which relaunched the Transformers brand and interest in it again into being a viable toy line)….
Hook up Fox kids branding with a new TF show….come out with a redeco line branded in with the Fox kids programming logo and info on the package like they did in Beast Wars.
Amp the hell out of the show and advertising and Buzz (get back with the CGI again…no 2D animation garbage) and shoot for the skies .

Fact.
The hub tried to compete with Disney and Cartoon Network and failed to gain the required viewership #'s and the fall in advertising revenue resulted in it failing.
(now if people want to argue the lack of decent shows, MLP, etc)
they can debate that from now till the cows come home.
But the Hub unfortunately faced an uphill battle and fell on it's ass.
The Iron Magnus
hell yeah.
NotRamjet97
*high five*
The Iron Magnus
yes, people with verizon fios were lucky.
TFW10
I guess, some people are just lucky
The Iron Magnus
odd, i didn't have to pay.
TFW10
No, cable was not out of the question
The Iron Magnus
so…
cable was out of the question?
Anyway, Discovery Kids is in NO WAY similar to
"The Hub Network!"
–Jihaxus, Transformers Regeneration
They should just be 2 different channels altogether.
TFW10
Like many, I'm not surprised being that the Hub was a premium channel and everyone who wanted to watch TFP and others had to pay extra.
Should be interesting when the new channel should announce its cartoon line up and how the new TF cartoon show would air.
LegendAntihero
It would've been better if the Hub was a free to watch using an antenna and not a cable channel. I myself don't have cable
Ash from Carolina
It did seem like The Hub really wasn't offering up much of a draw to get people to watch the channel. Sure My Little Pony was a hit beyond anything anyone could have ever expected and The Hub could offer up Transformer Prime, but you need more of a draw than that to get people to watch.
With GI Joe A Real American Hero, Transformers G1, and Beast Wars on Netflix it just felt there wasn't a reason to watch the Hub if they didn't have new programing and they didn't have the reruns of things you couldn't find anywhere else. Might as well save money by ditching cable and just watching the episodes in whatever order you wanted to whenever you wanted to on Netflix.
Autovolt 127
Yeah she didn't do a good job at all.
