West Hartford Police Issue More than 330 Cell Phone, Distracted Driving Citations

Distracted driving enforcement campaign will continued through Sept. 24.

The West Hartford Police Department has provided an update of its continuing efforts to promote traffic safety and safe driving with support by the Connecticut DOT through grants for dedicated distracted driving enforcement and for DWI patrols.

The department has issued more than 330 citations for cell phone and distracted driving violations during the campaign through Sept. 12.

The distracted driving patrols will continue through Sept. 24 and the dedicated DWI patrols are run every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights and those patrols are ongoing. The department is also using dedicated patrols around West Hartford schools.
