Philadelphia Eagles Cut Several Former Oregon Ducks from Roster

The Philadelphia Eagles had a few decisions to make regarding their roster and getting it down to the league mandated fifty three on Saturday and several former Oregon Ducks were casualties including former Running Back Kenjon Barner who was recently signed from the Carolina Panthers. The thought with Barner was he could be used to fill in for former Oregon Ducks Wide  Receiver Josh Huff, also with Philadelphia, but for Barner it did not work out as he was somewhat limited on the field and was put on the waiver/injury list  similar to another former Oregon Duck now in Green Bay, Colt Lyerla.

More from Oregon Ducks in the NFL

Two other former Oregon Ducks, who were around during the Chip Kelly years at Oregon included Linebacker Josh Kaddu, defensive lineman Wade Keliikipi and wide receiver Will Murphy. All three will have opportunities to sign with other teams before the season officially begins next week in the National Football League. That leaves five Oregon Ducks on the roster for the Philadelphia Eagles including Wide Receivers Josh Huff and Jeff Maehl, Defensive Lineman Brandon Bair and Taylor Hart as well as Linebacker Casey Matthews.

Any of the released players could still sign on to the Practice Squad for Philadelphia. Barner left the final preseason game this week with an ankle injury. Philly starts the regular season next week hosting the Jacksonville Jaguars at Lincoln Financial Field at 10am Pacific Time.
