When it comes to giving yourself a challenge there are few teams in the country as good at setting themselves up, for hopeful success as Oregon Volleyball Head Coach Jim Moore who enters his tenth season leading the charge for the Oregon Ducks. He has quite the amount of talent on the floor with him including four sport star athlete Liz Brenner who will anchor the team this season, along with younger players who are hungry for the competition.

More from Oregon Ducks

The season for the Oregon Ducks starts out with a bang right out of the gate. The team will face three teams from one of the better volleyball conferences in the Big Ten hosting the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday and both Michigan and Michigan State in two weeks at Matthew Knight Arena after a road trip next week to Hawaii. When asked about the schedule Moore joked, “whoever made that thing should be shot”, but Oregon has never been shy on the court in competition.

Two years ago, on one of the biggest Big Ten Women’s Volleyball stages at Penn State, at the time and still the top team in the country, Oregon pulled out the impossible – a win on the road at a place where the home team Nittany Lions rarely give up a game. The Oregon Ducks start the 2014 season on the outside looking in on the first poll of the season, slotted at twenty sixth and can make a big move up the rankings with some early season wins against solid competition.

Oregon and Ohio State start their seasons Friday night at Matthew Knight Arena at 7pm Pacific Time. The game will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks. Oregon leads the series against the Buckeyes 3-1.
