Eduardo Vargas to QPR: Latest Loan Details, Comments and More

Queens Park Rangers have announced the signing of Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas on a season-long loan deal.   

The club's official Twitter account revealed that Vargas would be moving to Loftus Road for the duration of the 2014-15 campaign, the club's sixth signing of the summer transfer window:

Vargas starred for Chile during the 2014 World Cup, despite not featuring heavily for the Azzurri in recent years, spending time on loan with Gremio and Valencia in the past 18 months.

However, the 24-year-old showed in Brazil what he's capable of, netting the opener in Chile's 2-0 beating of Spain. Hoops manager Harry Redknapp is quoted in speaking highly of the new arrival:

Earlier this week, Ben Burrows of the Mirror reported that Arsenal were set to seal the South American's allegiances, but his talents have instead been lured to west London.

Vargas becomes QPR's second Serie A loan signing this summer, following Juventus' Mauricio Isla to the Premier League outfit. Both players have a point to prove after seeing reputations drop in recent years.

Redknapp already has a host of figures up top with Loic Remy, Charlie Austin and Bobby Zamora hoping to leave their mark on England's top flight this season, but Vargas is an altogether more malleable attacker.

The signing is another indication of the vast aspirations that QPR have to do well among England's elite, bringing in a bracket of talent that other promoted sides may struggle to attain.

His success in the Premier League is far from assured, but the fiery tempo in which he goes about his business is sure to delight those QPR fans waiting to see him in action.
