Elle Fanning (“Maleficent”) has come aboard to star as Mary Shelley in the period drama “A Storm in the Stars” from acclaimed female Saudi Arabian filmmaker Haifaa Al-Mansour (“Wadjda”).
Emma Jensen penned the story of the passionate love affair between charismatic poet Percy Shelley and the well-educated 17-year-old Mary Wollstonecraft (Fanning).
A year later, after they were married, she would pen one of history’s most famed literary works, “Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus”.
Financing is being secured ahead of a planned 2015 film shoot.
