The food is great and the pricing is reasonable for the quality. They offer three choices for Fish and Chips, Fried, Grilled and Blackened. The Fried and Grilled are both good. There is an extensive selection of beers and they're planning on increasing the number of choices even more. Do yourself a favor though and DO NOT order their Pizza, it is not good. There are numerous large screen televisions on the walls, but I'm not sure what is the better entertainment on weekends...the sports teams or the fans. Service has been friendly but slow the last few times I've been there.

After a morning spent hiking at Rock Park in Castle Rock, my bestie and I found our tummies grumbling and in need of a beer. So we made our way to The Fowl Line to meet up with another friend and grab some eats.
First impression was not the best. It just felt dark. Weird because it was such a large space. They had a lot of sports memorabilia decorating the walls and a few tvs scattered about. They do feature quite a few tap beer options; which we were definitely excited to see. After browsing the menu, I chose to nosh on the french dip with grilled mushrooms and onions added. The fries were delish, but overall my food was pretty greasy and bland. My bestie got a salad that she had similar feelings toward. There were only a couple other tables occupied during our visit (all groups of perhaps three a piece), yet our server seemed stressed as though she had a full house. It took us a while to get refills on our drinks.
Eh, I don't know if I'll be back to The Fowl Line. There's plenty of other places in Castle Rock that I'd like to try before returning.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Greg P.Littleton, CO9938Nov 28, 2022
Website... what website? I research places before arriving, so I won't be stopping by

We've tried this place twice now. We tried it two years ago when we first moved to Castle Rock and the food wasn't very good, so we crossed it off our list for restaurants to eat at in Castle Rock. We kept hearing from friends that the food has improved and we just didn't order the right things before, so we gave it another shot this weekend. I was told I had to try their wings because that was their strength, so that's what I did. My wife got a cheeseburger and our kids both got buttered noodles.
My wings were a strange combination of cold and really deep fried, but with oil inside the wing under the breading. My wife's burger was meh, at the time, and our kids noodles were drowning in oil. The best part of any of our meals were the onion rings. My wife and I both ended up getting sick later that night and felt miserable for the next day and a half. We will not be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark M.Castle Rock, CO873Oct 31, 2015
It's hard to look past the Beer and Wings and see the rest of the Menu. However, when the chicken wings are this big and the beer selection on tap is huge, not much else matters.
Sadly, one of the negatives of this establishment is the inconsistent service from the wait staff. Sometimes the staff is attentive and on the ball. At other times, the service can be a bit sparse. Trying to find your server for 10 min in an empty restaurant is not much fun.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy P.San Diego, CA5187229Dec 19, 2015
So many great things about this place! Nachos are enough to share with an entire table, wings are great, and my husband raved about the giant basket of fried pickles.Environment is awesome for sports tv's everywhere. No matter where you sit, you can see a few tvs. Bathrooms are clean. Service is friendly.
My main complaints have to do with under par service. I always have an issue when sports bars hire a bar full of women who stand around & talk rather than work. Also I feel its essential to have people working behind bar "sports bar", who actually know about sports.
Numerous times my beer was empty, and I look over, and my bartender is talking or eating her food. I've seen the bartender eat behind the bar, not wash her hands, then go and serve food and drinks. Also have seen employees taking shots behind the bar, when peoples drinks were empty.
Although there are some clear service issues with this place. Overall this place is still great do to: environment, food prices, happy hour, & tvs. If the bartenders were really experienced and sports knowledgable, with super fast service, this place would be an A+Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David C.Castle Rock, CO01Oct 11, 2016Updated review
The chicken gumbo is the best item on the menu. The rest of the menu is average at best. One thing that continues to frustrate me with this place is their disregard to excellent service. Most of the staff is friendly but be ready to wait a long time to get your order taken. I've waited for over ten minutes on many occasions to get a table cleared and wiped down after we've been seated.
The beer is always good and the service is best when seated at the bar.
Its definitely not the place to go if you are into a 'wow' dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 13, 2015Previous reviewGood food but horrible service! When you arrive plan on waiting 10-15 minutes before your order is taken! 15-20 additional minutes before your food arrives.

I came to The Fowl Line for a group event- we had the separate room. I was really impressed with our server Jessica- she gave us great service and had to take care of a lot of people at once, but was able to keep everyone straight and smiled through it! I had the buffet which took some explaining. The buffet didn't look appealing as we walked by it but it turns out you get a lot for the money: your choice of spaghetti or fettuccine alfredo, your choice of two toppings on a pizza, and soup and salad bar too! I liked the pizza more than I expected- it had a crisp crust and had great flavor. I also loved the spaghetti! The soup seemed homemade. I also bought the fried pickles- they were better than I've had at most places and were a huge portion which allowed me to share with the whole table- excellent! The restaurant is very popular and it's hard to walk to and from the buffet with so many tables so close together, but the room was great and the food was yummy and the service from Jessica awesome!

We wanted to come in for a snack and a beer post shopping spree. Upon entering, it looks like a child's place with games and junky toys. Once past the games, the grease smell was so strong that my mom and I decided it would make us sick if we stayed any longer. Investing in a better ventilation system would benefit them greatly.

When we moved to Castle Rock a year ago, Fowl Line was one of our first regular spots. Then after a bad night where the bartender was also manning half the tables, losing her mind, and we watched what I think was the manager shrug her shoulders and not help, we left. And didn't come back for 9 months.
Imagine my shock when we left another bar after a bad experience and my husband suggests Fowl Line. But I'm glad he suggested it. They have cleaned up the restaurant--I love the new bar stools. The food was good (sweet potato fries still getting over cooked), the atmosphere was fun, and best of all the staff was put together, dressed in Fowl Line shirts, and were calm. Whatever the owners did--awesome job! You won us back last night.
Ps: French Quarter Chicken Wrap is awesome. I had plain beef sliders and the meat was seasoned which was great.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
