The Oregon Ducks have had a handful of players depart from the beginning of Spring Camp, typically through the end of summer, be it for personal reasons or for another opportunity because they are buried on the depth chart and don’t feel they will see much in the way of playing time. One name you can add to the list according to OregonLive.com is backup kicker Hayden Crook. He would have been entering his Sophomore year with the Oregon Ducks, but according to the report left before Spring Camp although nothing from the University of Oregon has been announced.

Crook found himself in a tough position behind likely Oregon Sophomore and likely starter Matt Wogan, who will be replacing Alejandro Maldonado in 2014. He started 2013 with kickoff duty and eventually took over placekicking as well making seven of nine on the year when he need to. The Oregon Ducks will now have two backups behind Wogan with Senior Eric Solis and Oregon product Aidan Schneider.

Crook joins a handful of players who left Oregon over the last few months more more playing time elsewhere including Wide Receiver Eric Dungy, Quarterbacks Jake Rodrigues and Damian Hobbs and Linebackers Brett Bafaro and Tyrell Robinson.

The Oregon Ducks start the 2014 regular season hosting South Dakota on Saturday August 30th inside Autzen Stadium. Kickoff is set of 7:30pm Pacific Time on Pac-12 Networks.
