Cynthia Cooke, general secretary of the Racer's Track Club, declared that the 2014 edition of the club's summer camp was a success.

The three-week summer camp came to an end through a closing exercise that took place yesterday at the Racer's Track Club in Kingston. The camp was for children between the ages of seven and 19.

"The feedback from the children and their parents was really great. They loved it and commended our staff overall. We had some come from as far as India, Trinidad, Canada, and Britain and they have all requested to come back next year," Cooke told The Gleaner.

bigger and better

She also noted that the club has bigger and better plans coming for next year's edition of the summer camp.

"We are expecting the camp to grow from strength to strength. The only problem is that we can't take on too many participants because as you see the students like the individual attention. We can't increase the number of coaches during the summer as we don't have many available," Cooke continued.

"I feel really good about the turnout and we had to show our appreciation to these children and their parents for taking part in the camp," she added.
