At the 2014 NCAA Track and Field Championships two sport athlete Devon Allen showed off his speed and took the one-hundred ten meter hurdles in record time. For the second time in 2014 Allen has been named among the fastest athletes for the upcoming season and he has yet to set foot in a field. The folks at HeismanPundit have tallied the numbers and named Allen the third fastest player for the 2014 season.

They explain that when they began looking at speed it started by breaking down track and field like numbers like the 100 meter and 200 meters. HeismanPundit stresses one aspect of athleticism over pure speed, which makes sense. There is already plenty of hype when it comes to two particular quarterbacks entering the season. Both Oregon QB Marcus Mariota and Florida State Signal Caller Jameis Winston made plenty of watch lists in the last week, but neither are named on the fastest player list from HeismanPundit. The Seminoles did get a player on the list in Wide Receiver Levonte Whitfield.

Devon Allen was among two Pac-12 Players to make the list with California Bears Running Back Khalfani Muhammad. The top player with speed at number one is from Oklahoma State in Wide Receiver/Running Back Tyreek Hill.

Devon Allen and the Oregon Ducks start the 2014 regular season on Saturday, August 30th hosting South Dakota. The game is set to kickoff at 7:30pm PT and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
