Police left a bait car running along Central Avenue Saturday night. Instead, he hid his IDs in the air vents and picked up an electric guitar police placed as a prop in the back seat and began swinging it at the officers around him.“You see him grab the guitar, and present it in a weapons-like fashion, which very well could've been his full intent,” said Szych, while watching video of the incident.About 15 minutes later, police said Mexicano gave up fighting. He was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle.Szych said other than Mexicano barricading himself in the car, the arrest went smoothly.Police had K-9 officers and beanbags ready, but neither tactic was needed.Mexicano has a criminal history that includes DWI and battery on a peace officer.
