The fallout from the sacking of David Moyes at Manchester United continues to dominate the back pages on Wednesday.

According to one report, the former Everton boss is "furious and disgusted" at his dismissal on Tuesday morning.

Sir Alex Ferguson will have a say in Moyes' successor, despite pinpointing his fellow Scot to follow him last year, according to other reports.

Elsewhere, Chelsea's creditable 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final first leg has come at a cost, according to reports.

But who else is making the headlines on Wednesday? Read on to find out more.

David Moyes was left "furious and disgusted" at the manner of his dismissal as Manchester United manager, reports Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror.

According to the article, Moyes was angry at being left in the dark over his future, and discovering his forthcoming fate via social media on Monday afternoon.

Ian Ladyman of the Daily Mail claims United stars sneered at Moyes following the Champions League last-16 first-leg defeat to Olympiakos.

    Ladyman wrote:

A management self-help guide called Good to Great was Moyes’s choice after his team’s 2-0 defeat by Olympiakos that we now know was the tipping point of the Scot’s dismal reign at Old Trafford.

The book was noted by Moyes’ players, the reaction predictable.

‘We are the Premier League champions,’ said one source from that flight. ‘Why on earth did our manager need to read a book to learn how to manage us?’

Ladyman also notes other moments of disrespect towards the former Old Trafford manager in his article.

Mark Ogden of the Daily Telegraph reports that Sir Alex Ferguson will have a key role in choosing the next United boss, despite pinpointing Moyes last year.

Old Trafford season-ticket holders are set for a voice from "beyond the grave" with Moyes issuing a plea for renewals in a letter, reports Charles Sale of the Daily Mail.

Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti will be a rival to Louis van Gaal for the Manchester United vacancy, reports Neil Custis of The Sun (subscription required).

According to the article, Ancelotti has a "strained" relationship with Bernabeu president Florentino Perez, and he could leave the La Liga giants in the summer.

But the Real boss was sympathetic towards the plight of David Moyes and is quoted as saying:

That’s the life of a coach. From time to time things don’t come out well and they sack you.

It surprised me a bit because Manchester United do not have this custom.

It may be normal for other clubs but for Manchester United after 27 years of Sir Alex it’s a bit of a surprise.

Van Gaal has turned down an approach by Tottenham for his services in favour of waiting on United, reports Simon Mullock of the Daily Mirror.

But both Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have distanced themselves from links with the vacancy at Old Trafford, says Ben Burrows of the Daily Mirror.

Ryan Giggs has taken over as interim manager, but he will not be given the job on a permanent basis yet, reports Thom Drake of the Daily Mail.

Chelsea earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League semi-final on Tuesday, but the result has come at a cost with Petr Cech ruled out for the rest of the season, while John Terry faces an anxious wait on his team-mates to prolong his campaign, reports Richard Arrowsmith of the Daily Mail.

Goalkeeper Cech was replaced by Mark Schwarzer in the first half after suffering a dislocated shoulder following a collision with Atletico's Raul Garcia.

Terry left the field late on in the game after picking up an ankle problem during a challenge with Diego Costa.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho believes Terry will only play again this season if his team reach the Champions League final, but goalkeeper Cech will now be out for the remainder of the campaign.

    Mourinho is quoted as saying:

    Petr Cech’s season over.

Don’t ask me technically, but season over.

And John, we have to play the final for him to play with us.

Meanwhile, Chelsea defender Ashley Cole, who played against Atletico, is a transfer target for Real Madrid, reports John Cross of the Daily Mirror.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers will be rewarded for the team's success this season with a potential £70 million transfer spending kitty, reports David Maddock of the Daily Mirror.

The Anfield club hold a five-point advantage at the top of the Premier League ahead of the visit of Chelsea on Sunday.

Rodgers has already ensured that the Reds will be playing in the Champions League again next season, and he will be allowed to splash out with Liverpool's biggest transfer war-chest for next season, claims the article.

The Liverpool manager will be given £60 million, plus any other monies he can raise from the sale of players this summer, claims Maddock.

Manchester City have been dealt a huge blow in their hopes of Premier League success this season after midfielder David Silva was ruled out for three weeks, reports David Anderson of the Daily Mirror.

The Spain international aggravated an existing ankle injury during the win over West Bromwich Albion on Monday, and he will now be sidelined for the majority of the remaining games this term.

According to Anderson, Silva will have a scan on the injury on Wednesday, but City are preparing for an absence of two to three weeks.

Olivier Giroud has voiced his desire to remain at Arsenal next season, and he wants manager Arsene Wenger to be there too, reports John Cross of the Daily Mirror.

The France striker was dropped by Wenger earlier this year after being caught in a hotel room with a model the night before a Premier League match, notes the article.

The incident led to reports that the 27-year-old would leave the Gunners in the summer, but Giroud is quoted as saying:

You shouldn't listen to that. A lot of things were said.

I'm still happy in London and with Arsenal and think I will be in the future.

I have a contract until 2016 and I'm an Arsenal player. I want to be here next season, at least that's my will.

Giroud has called on manager Wenger to stay on beyond this season:

Of course we all want him [Wenger] to continue the adventure.

I'm sure that next season we can challenge for the title, I hope, right until the end [of the season], and we need the coach.

We need his experience. He must stay.

    Scott Heppell

Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul is considering a summer transfer out of the club, reports Ian Murtagh of the Daily Star.

The Holland international is attracting interest from Tottenham Hotspur, AC Milan and Juventus, claims the article.

The 26-year-old is now considering his options, with the report citing a source close to the player as saying:

Tim enjoys playing for Newcastle but at the same time, he wants to win trophies and play at the highest level.

He has some important decisions to make about his future and knows if he did leave, there would be no shortage of clubs wanting to sign him.
