Oregon, winners of nine games in a row were noticed this week by the folks at Baseball America. The Oregon Ducks Baseball team moved up from 23rd to the 19th ranked team in the country. This weeks opponent, Pac-12 Conference foe Oregon State stands at number five in this week’s poll. Both the Oregon Ducks and Beavers know there is a lot riding on the three game series that starts later this week.

Several weeks ago Oregon lost the services of Freshman Starting Pitcher Matt Krook who left a game with arm stiffness. The team looked adversity in the eye and is currently on a nine game winning streak. It was announced on Monday that Krook would have season ending Tommy John Surgery.

Oregon State has won seven of their last eight games, including a sweep of Stanford in Corvallis. The Oregon Ducks faced the Cardinal on the farm to close out March and went 1-2 in their three game series. However, this Oregon team is different than the one just a few weeks ago. They are hitting the ball better and their Starting Pitchers, even without Krook in the lineup are proving stability, and more importantly wins for the Oregon Ducks.

The Civil War Series comes to Corvallis this weekend between Oregon(31-10) and Oregon State(27-7). George Horton’s team has more wins than the Beavers entering the series, but Oregon State has a one game lead on the Ducks in the Pac-12 Conference standings heading into the weekend. All three games of this important series will be televised.

Game one on Friday is set for 7pm(Pac-12 Networks), Game two Saturday is slated for 7:30(Pac-12 Networks) and Game three on Suunday is set for 1pm(ESPNU).
