The Oregon Football team will look to build on a third place standing that likely won’t change anytime soon. Oregon enters the 2014 season with ninety four consecutive sellouts at Autzen Stadium, but have two very prominent teams behind them in Notre Dame and Nebraska. The Fighting Irish have a streak of 237 consecutive sellouts dating back to 1974 and the Cornhuskers hold the top spot with consecutive sellouts going back to 1962. Some quick math has the top two at 570 sellouts in a row. Last season Oregon was in fourth place behind then number three Virginia Tech , whose streak came to an end against Western Carolina. Currently the Oregon Ducks stand at ninety-six consecutive sellouts heading into the upcoming season, but there are some questions in my mind if this streak will continue.

Over the last few seasons the Oregon Ducks have had a rather lack luster non conference schedule, but this year is different with a Big 10 Powerhouse, Michigan State coming to Eugene in Week 2 of the schedule. Last season there was a game or two that I thought that streak would come to an end, but it managed to continue on. This season the question begins from the start.

The first game of the year will see the Oregon Ducks against South Dakota on August 30th, which is Labor Day Weekend. Will Autzen fill the seats for this one? After all, it is a holiday weekend. I think the Ducks probably will as the hype for this game will build. It has already started at South Dakota with a countdown clock in their locker room.

The Oregon Spring Game, which will give us a small glimpse into the 2014 team happens on Saturday May 3rd(11am, Pac-12 Networks.) As a side note the Michigan State Spring Game is next weekend in East Lansing. The Spartans and Ducks meet at Autzen on September 6th 2014.
