The Oregon Baseball team is on a positive roll over the last few weeks. In the news of Starting Pitcher Matt Krook several weeks ago leaving with arm stiffness the team found a way to pull it together and reel off nine straight wins. The last three games were led by Starter Tommy Thorpe, who won on Thursday, Jeff Gold who won Friday and fill in starter Trent Paddon who earned his first career victory in a 2-1 win on Saturday.

Game Three was very different than the first two games won by the Oregon Ducks 11-1 and 6-3 respectively. Runs were more at a premium and hits were harder to come by, but when it comes down to being clutch George Horton’s team answered the call on Saturday with Oregon Catcher Shawn Chase ending the game with a strikeout/throw out double play in the top of the ninth inning.

Aaron Payne had a very special Saturday as he became the all time steals leader as an Oregon Duck with his 41st steal of the year in the bottom of the eighth inning. A.J. Balta led Oregon offensively in the finale with two of the teams four hits in the game.

The Oregon Ducks now take a nine game winning streak up Interstate 5 about 45 miles to take on in state rival Oregon State next weekend.
