Abducted Toddler Found Safe in Virginia

North Carolina has cancelled issued an Amber Alert for a 10-month-old girl after she was found unharmed in Emporia, Va.

Emporia police said a customer at a McDonald's restaurant spotted the suspect's vehicle and dialed 911. Officers arrived and arrested her father, Rodney Francis Bryant, 26.

The baby, Tamiyah Elssy Bryant, was unharmed. Durham, N.C., police are transporting the mother to Emporia to be reunited with her baby.

Durham police said the child was taken early Saturday morning, and Rodney Bryant had made threats to kill himself and the child.

Prince George’s County, Md., police said earlier Sunday they thought Rodney Bryant may be passing through in the area, but did not provide any further details. There were also indications he may have been headed to Atlanta.

Rodney Bryant will be extradited from Virginia to face charges in North Carolina.
