The University of San Diego came into PK Park with a very solid record of 25-10 on the season. The game was played close and the Oregon Ducks came out with a solid 4-3 victory on Monday in Eugene. However it wasn’t the usual way of hitting and base running that won the game for the home team. San Diego pitching through 4 2/3 innings of work hit seven Oregon batters. It also helped that Oregon Starting Pitcher Brando Tessar, in throwing for the second time in a week has thrown 14 scoreless inning for George Horton giving them a six game winning streak as they head back into Pac-12 Conference play this week.

At the plate on Monday Mitchell Tolman came through with a hit, but also was walked twice in the game. The current Pac-12 Player of the Week, along with Tyler Baumgardner and Kyle Garlick carried Oregon through the weekend and are proving as a solid three, four five, part of the lineup as patient. They have come through in a big way in leading the Oregon Ducks to six wins over the last week.

Tessar(3-0) had the start and threw seven innings, scattering seven hits. The save went to Garrett Cleavinger. Oregon now prepares to step back into Pac-12 play this week as Washington State comes to town. We’ll have coverage on Thursday(6pm). The other games of the series are Friday(6pm) and Saturday(2pm).
