Over the last four games the Oregon Ducks Baseball team has made the most of their opportunties against their opponent. Hitting has been timely and pitching has been more solid than on the road trip last that ended last week going 5-5. After giving up 15 walks to Washington in a three games series last weekend the Ducks have clamped down and given up just four walks in their last four games. On Saturday the ball went to Starting Pitcher Jeff Gold, who entering the game was 7-0 on the season. He allowed four runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings. He also struck out five. The six foot three Senior is now 8-0 on the season for the Oregon Ducks.

On Offense, Oregon continued with pressure chasing UC Irvine’s starter after just two innings. Mitchell Tolman again led the charge for George Horton’s team going three for four with three hits, a run and two RBI’s. Nick Catalano went two for three with a run scored and Freshman A.J. Balta finished two for four with an RBI and a run scored.  Former Starter turned closer Jake Reed pitched the ninth inning for his eighth save of the season.

The Oregon Ducks finish the three game series with UC Riverside today at Noon at PK Park before welcoming in San Diego for one game on Monday(1pm PT) at PK Park.
