Another Bergen County Resident Charged with Distribution Oxy’s

Another Bergen County Resident Charged with Distribution Oxy’s The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Task Force made yet another drug related arrest, this time in the Borough of Paramus New Jersey. According to the initial reports, the task force arrested a Teaneck man, again, after they allege that they physically observed him making another hand to hand transaction at the Garden State Plaza. Just like his prior arrest a month ago, the defendant was apprehended after he was caught selling Oxycodone in the mall parking lot. At the time of this arrest, the defendant was found to be in possession of twenty (20) Oxycodone pills and during his previous arrest a month ago, the defendant was in possession of sixteen (16) pills. These are both third degree felonies in New Jersey, provided the Garden State Plaza is not within 500 feet of a public park or housing complex.

The detectives have announced that the defendant was released on his own recognize (“ROR”) and not issued a monetary bail. The defendant will most likely be charged with the unlawful possession of prescription drugs and distribution of Oxycodone. Due to the quantity of oxy’s possessed at the times of his arrest(s), he would most likely be charged with two third degree felonies. A third degree felony in New Jersey is punishable by up to five (5) years in a New Jersey State Prison and the defendant can be fined up to $200,000. In addition, due to the nature of the charges, the defendant is also subject to a two year loss of his driving privileges as well.
