Goes anywhere. And with anything

iPod shuffle isn't just portable. It's wearable too. Clip it to your shirt, jacket, workout gear, backpack or purse strap, and it stays put - whether you're running an errand or running round the track.

Controls

Buttons are back

Control your music with just a click
Control your music with just a click

It's back - the big, clickable control pad on the front of iPod shuffle. It's 18 per cent larger than on previous iPod shuffle models, so it's even easier to see and use the music controls. Press the centre button to play and pause. Press the outer buttons to skip forward or back and adjust volume. Click, click, click. It's music to your fingers.

Play it your way

Maybe you're the spontaneous type. Or maybe you prefer a little order. Just flip the shuffle switch to suit your listening style. Flip it to the left, and you'll hear your music in a refreshingly random way. Flip it to the middle, and your songs play in order. Or flip to the right to turn iPod shuffle off.

VoiceOver

It tells you what you want to hear

Give your songs a voice
VoiceOver button

Say you're listening to a song and want to know the title or the artist. Just press the new VoiceOver button on top of your iPod shuffle, and it tells you. You can even use VoiceOver to hear the names of playlists and switch between them. And if your battery needs charging, VoiceOver tells you that too.

It speaks your language

A French love song. A Spanish bolero. An Italian cantata. Your music library has songs from all over the world. That's why VoiceOver speaks 25 different languages. So it can tell you song titles and artists in their native tongues or any language you choose.

Playlists

The perfect mix for every mood

Sync to your heart's content
Sync to your heart's content

iTunes on your Mac or PC makes it easy to load up your iPod shuffle. Just choose the playlists, audiobooks, podcasts and other audio files you want, then sync.

When one playlist isn't enough

You probably have multiple playlists in iTunes on your computer. One for your commute. One for the gym. One for just chilling out. Sync all those playlists to iPod shuffle, and you can play the perfect mix for whatever mood strikes you. VoiceOver tells you the name of each playlist, so it’s easy to switch between them and find the one you want without looking.

Genius comes to iPod shuffle

There's another way to get a good mix of music on iPod shuffle: let Genius do the work. Activate Genius in iTunes on your computer, and it automatically finds songs that sound great together. Then it creates Genius Mixes, which you can easily sync to your iPod shuffle. It's the perfect way to rediscover songs you haven't listened to in ages.

This new iPod shuffle just goes to show that Apple do listen to their customers. We wanted buttons and no gimmicky propriety headphones, and they finally listened! This new generation shuffle adopts a similar design to it's older brother and let me tell you, this thing is TINY. When I got the box I was astounded at how small this thing actually is. I got the silver one and it's shinier than in the photos (very nice finish to it). I can imagine this would be easy to lose but as long as you have headphones plugged in you shouldn't lose track of it too quickly. It's an absolutely gorgeous little device and will look good clipped on any bag, shirt or trouser pocket. Otherwise, it contains the same features as before. Voiceover helps you choose playlists, check battery (very handy) and also tells you the song that's playing. Battery life is stated for around 12 hours, but as with most Apple estimates you should half this to get a more realistic figure. No pin connector like the nano/touch/classic as usual, still amazed at how they can get data transfer through the headphone jack! For the exercise fanatics (possibly the shuffles main customer base) I can't really tell you how it fares, but at least with the buttons you won't have issues with the remote this time. All in all a fantastic mp3 player at a great price. For £40 you get a music player, no more no less. At least if you do manage to lose it, you haven't lost an expensive investment! EDIT: Had the device for a week now. Charged it last friday and it's only just dropped to 75% after an hours play every day. The small light also changes colour depending on battery strength: Green for good charge, orange for less than half and red for 25%.

I've already got most of my music on an iPod Touch but wanted something smaller to carry with me when taking some exercise. Since all my music is already stored within iTunes, it made sense to go with Apple's minute player. It comes packaged in a small, clear, plastic box, and as other reviewers have said, one thing that immediately strikes you is that it is tiny. Easy to leave clipped on to your jeans pocket unless you've got your wits about you! You've been warned! Build quality is excellent. Although this player is very light, it feels quite robust. There is a clip on the reverse side to attach to your clothes; an play/shuffle/off switch, headphone-charging socket and voice over button on the top; and the volume, play-pause button and forward and reverse buttons on the front.
It is easy to put music onto the player with iTunes, and although the storage capacity is quite small, you can get enough songs on the Shuffle to keep you quiet through a good few hours of walking, running etc. The sound quality is really good. To my (admittedly untrained) ear, it sounds as good as my Touch, and it is considerably lighter. Before it arrived, I did have some concerns about how easy it would be to navigate through music, podcasts etc without a screen. However, the voice over function works really well, and if you organise your music into playlists on your computer before you put it on to your shuffle, finding what you want to listen to is relatively straightforward.
Overall, a good addition, particularly given that my music is already in iTunes, so moving to a player which plays wma or mp3 files would have been a bit more effort.

Absolutely love this iPod. It is ideal for my use which is a daily run and the iPod handles this task very well with just the one exception.

The exception is the earphones - they just do not sit in your ear very well after you start to sweat. They are OK in the winter when you wear a hat but for other times of the year I resort to earphones such as the Philips earhook SHS8000's.

With regards to the iPod it is ideal - very small and comes with a clip that secures itself very well to any item of clothing. Controls are nice and easy to use without resorting to looking at them and the volume is fine for use on the road. A nice touch is the voiceover which tells you the name of the track you are listening to (if you want this). For me I just setup a playlist via iTunes before I sync the iPod and off you go with the occasional skipping of a track you get fed up with.

Battery life is superb - seems to go on for ages.

      Highly recommended.

Got one of these after being given a free Chinese-made replica that was playing up.
Instantly you can tell the difference: mainly that it works! The quality of build is great, its
easy to use and the sound quality is noticeably superior, the bass response especially better.

My only gripe is with iTunes.
Having been used to Windows Media Player, the iTunes platform seems clunky; it won't search your library for tracks, you have to load each of your folders or tracks one-by-one.
Unfortunately, like some other well-known companies, Apple have seen fit to force us to use their software instead of allowing the customer to choose.
And when I finally got though the registration process, I found their music tracks to be up to 25% more than Amazons! Why should I bother?

This doesn't detract from the fact that this is a good product, a really amazing piece of technology.

I previously owned a 2nd (?) generation iPod shuffle which has been great but the battery was no longer taking a charge so I needed an urgent replacement for a long haul flight I had booked. I chose the green as it looked a quite vibrant colour and I fancied a change after my silver one, but it wasn't as bright as I had thought and turned out to be quite a sickly colour. The new shuffle also comes in a very small box that I had a job to pack it away in - I had always kept my old one in its original box - presumably you are meant to purchase the case as well! That being said, this is a relatively cheap item, that packs a lot of information onto it - as I have previously owned one it was simple to transfer my music onto it, and add twice as many tunes as I previously had which was an advantage. There is a tweak on this one - a button that tells you the name and artist of the track playing (not really sure that I needed this as I put on music that I liked?) but a nice touch. The delivery on this item was really quick and it arrived well before my flight, and in excellent condition which was fantastic.

Excellent. Ca fait maintenant 8 mois que j'utilise cet iPod Shuffle. C'est mon premier produit Apple et j'avoue que je suis tombé accro de cette marque. Cet iPod Shuffle ne me quitte jamais.

inserire i brani diventa molto semplice.
Anche se la clip posteriore per agganciare lo shuffle dove si preferisce è molto solida, fate bene attenzione a fissarlo bene, perché è talmente leggero che non ci si accorgerebbe assolutamente di averlo perso!!!
