February DAILY Giveaway: A Heads-up

Though it hasn't been announced yet, we'll be having a daily giveaway here on PentaxForums.com every single day for the entire month of February. That means that each day, one of our members will be winning a prize! At the end of the month, we will also give away three grand prizes to three giveaway participants: a brand new DA 50mm F1.8, DA 35mm F2.4, and DA 40mm F2.8 XS lens. The daily prizes are TBA, but there will be 28 of them and they will all be photo-related or Pentax accessories.

Here's the way this giveaway will work- it's very simple!

You don't need to do anything special to enter. Just go about your business posting as you always do. The top forum poster each day will win a prize. The top 12 posters each day will also receive grand prize entries for the grand prize raffle.

At the end of the month, the person with the highest number of grand prize entries will automatically win first pick for one of the thee lenses. The winners of the remaining two grand prizes will be picked randomly based on the number of raffle entries issued.

So, be sure to visit the site often in February. Logging on and posting just a few times a day might score you a few freebies or maybe even a free lens!

I agree, maybe have a minimum amount of posts per day to be eligible then have some kind of quality criteria used to pick the top poster of the day. Some good proxies for qualities might be liked posts, most quoted, or people who started the hottest thread of the day.

I have an easier solution: post junk and you're out!

Back in 2008 we had a giveaway where the single top poster won a camera. Learned our lesson there so that's why we're going with the segmented raffle approach for this one.

Or not. I don't think I know enough to contribute most of the time, and I'm not going to go out of my way to make an @$$ of myself. Even if I would love to receive a free lens, as my budget for photography is extremely limited.

How about finding a way to know who READS the most threads. I would like that challenge

It could be based on # of likes? Or combine likes with posts in a sensible formula, so they both have weight.
