this might sound dumb but i have read that the new 18-270 is a re branded tamron. if that is correct why does the tamron branded lens list for less than half the Pentax branded lens.
also can anyone tell me if they like the sigma 18-250 with the SDM

The tamron one isn't available in the Pentax mount, so Pentax gets to charge a premium.

Because Tamron didn't make a K-mount version of the lens - Tamron quit issuing new K-mount lenses some time after the 18-250 because they just weren't selling enough. The Pentax-badged version has to be considered a very limited edition compared to the zillions of Tamron-badged Canon/Nikon copies. I can't comment on the Sigma, but any superzoom tends to be a "jack-of-all-trades, master of none". You pay in performance for what you get in convenience.

When we got our first two copies of the Sigma 18-250 os macro they were both decentered, and I(David) commented on that. The person who reviewed one aftet me saw rhe magic in that lens , so we tried a third one. They were right, it is a great lens without any downsides. You would love it.

pentax 18-270 much better !!!!!!!
don hasitate to bay it especoali with pentax k3
it is better than sigma18-250
