We ate mainly vegetarian dishes and they all favored just right. The mushroom spring rolls are a bit bigger so instead of dipping you need to scoop the sauce on top. A nice find for a fast food type of place with fresh ingredients. Service was excellent.

Love this idea of making your bowl the way you like.
Choose your base, we chose noodles, then your protein, I had pork and my child had beef, and then your veggies and sauces.
The pork and beef were cooked well and tender.
I loved the nori fries. Extra crispy with a hint of sweetness.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Mar 26, 20242 check-ins
Parking here can be challenging since it's located in a plaza with City Sports.
If you're looking for a quick meal, this place is like a Vietnamese version of Chipotle. You customize your bowl to your liking. You choose your base, protein, veggies and finish it off with sauce.
The order was quick and easy. I went with the rice noodles, beef, all the vegetables and the VN sauce and lime soy vinaigrette. The ingredients were fresh and tasty.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 8, 2024
This place is like a Viet Chipotle. Great for light meals and the portion is generous so you can save some for later. You build your own bowl with choice of base, meat, veggies, and sauce. I got the rice noodle bowl with pork and all the veggies except jalapeño and vn fish sauce. I love the flavor and texture of the grilled pork and the sauce goes great with the rice noodles.
I also got their shrimp rolls and they were alright. A bit too much veggies inside for my liking and I thought the shrimp was kinda small.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 1 - Dec 2, 2023
I honestly don't know how they have such good reviews. My experience was so bad I can only assume they paid for them or they had a really off day and unfortunately I just happened to show up.
Anyways, colleague and I were in San Jose for work and she's half Vietnamese. The spots I normally frequent are closed because it's a random weekday but we do some research and like the good rating.
First off, it's a build a bowl type spot. Not at all what I thought it was going to be and want as I generally don't like these types of spots. The bowls you chose a base, protein, toppings and sauce. They were okay.
The downfall was the shrimp spring rolls. These were laughably bad. The thinnest shrimp which I mean, I get it they're a business. But the inside was all lettuce and the tiniest but of noodles. Ummm where's the mint? Any cilantro? Or chives? This was easily the saddest spring roll and we threw it.
In the end, we were still hungry so we found a different place and went there for a second better lunch.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1 - 476174226Sep 8, 2023
It's like Vietnamese fast food but tasty and fresh!
Order your selection and seat yourself.
I got the lemongrass chicken which was cooked perfectly and not overly salted. It was interesting to have this with brown rice as I'm used to eating it with rice noodles.
Reminds me of like a Vietnamese chipotle and I wish there were more of these!
Food came out fast and ingredients tasted fresh.
One restroom for customers, self service water. Lots of tables.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 28, 2023
Pretty damn good lunch . I think of this as a Viet Chipotle. I went a little extra and got the Banh Mi Taco which was hella good for 4 bucks i will probably get 2 or 3 next time and just make that my meal. I got a Coke which i will skip next time as i was trying to eat a healthier lunch. First time here at my lunch was 27, i will be smarter next time and maybe get the Kalbi salad only to-go instead to keep my lunch under 20 bucks.

We wanted to try something different so looked up Vn Grill and came by. Okay, so there is no pho, but the Vermicelli bowls are quite bomb. You can customize it to your liking as well. Always make sure to add the fish sauce! What I enjoy about Vn Grill is that they are very dedicated to sustainability and providing items that are recyclable or compostable. The portions are excellent, and the shrimp spring rolls are a killer appetizer. Definitely give this place a try if you want a quick lunch or dinner.

Sometimes, the thought hits you: the less you chase and try to fill your life with more and more, strangely, you feel more at peace. During a game of taboo recently, I blurted out, "More money, more problems." Mind you, the word was "income," but I had no idea at the time. Fill in the anaphora (specifically the word "money" with some other word), and you kinda can just go along with it. Strange how group games have a way of sparking an epiphany. Anyways, I've been in that kind of mood lately, and it is some what of a phenomenon being an observer as I sit still and feel like the world around me is whirling, filled with people super busy or changing their lives in ways both admirable and numbing.
Going into VN Grill, it was empty. However, somehow I liked it that way because it was quiet. But don't get me wrong, VN Grill should have more people in it. They have pretty fresh ingredients for their rice bowls, be it the meat or the veggies. I appreciated how clean the taste was of the ingredients and sauces. I did think the beef was leaning towards being tougher in texture, however. I thought the lady taking the orders was pleasant in a very calm and not-in-your-face way. I almost felt like I was stepping into a quiet Japanese garden. Now, I am starting to go off tangent.
Overall, it was a decent experience, and I think people can find some pretty healthy and fresh options here.Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 6Oh no 0
