In this race Oregon fans can be somewhat patient. Oregon is at least in the Top 3 of the final year of the Bowl Championship Series. Oregon has taken out opponents this season by wide margins and have played just one ranked opponent in Pac 12 foe Washington. One thing the Ducks have in their favor is they have a big game this week against Top 15 Pac 12 Opponent UCLA and will still face a likely Top 10 Stanford team in a few weeks and a hot and likely ranked Oregon State team to close out the season.

Florida State has played a good part of their ranked opponents already this season and have to get through #7 Miami in a few weeks. The Hurricanes are their lone opponent ranked in the Top 25 for the rest of the season. Also, Florida State has only played six games this season, the Ducks have played seven. So Oregon fans take a deep breath and relax.

Even Brad Edwards from ESPN says it has to do with the computer rankings and it is an abberation. The gap between the two teams is a mere .003 of a point. Florida State is .935 with the Ducks at .932

Oregon hosts UCLA on Saturday at 4pm PT on ESPN and will also host ESPN Gameday on Saturday morning.
