Scrum Butt and the Nokia test

I just took another look at Schwaber’s Nokia test and observe the trends in scrum practice patterns over the two test periods. Like any packaged product scrum is elaborated and adjusted over time, but you have to ask, are the changes positive, negative or inconsequential.

The scrum leadership are a little schizophrenic on the matter of adaptation. One the one hand, maintain the basics of scrum to yield the benefits of an integrated approach. On the other hand – it’s a framework with an “inspect and adapt” mechanism built right in.

What should you do?

"Scrum But" has only one T... it's not like "Scrum Ass", you know?

Comes from: "I do Scrum, BUT... I don't have a Product Owner etc."

  2. I hate to nit-pick, but the term is actually a play on words - messing with an older term 'scuttlebutt' which refers to idle and uninformed gossip shared on a ship.

Don't believe me? Ask Jeff Sutherland
