  • BOS First Baseman #36
Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters Casas will be “out a while” after undergoing an MRI earlier this week that revealed a fracture in his left ribs. The 24-year-old burgeoning slugger’s absence is a colossal loss for Boston’s lineup and is also a big hit for fantasy managers that were counting on him building off last year’s phenomenal second-half performance. The lack of a concrete timetable suggests that he’s likely to miss a couple months, if not longer. There should be a clearer timetable in the coming days, but it certainly sounds like he’s going to miss a considerable portion of the season.
  • NYY Starting Pitcher #45
Yankees manager Aaron Boone told reporters the hope is that Cole will progress to a bullpen session at some point next week. The 33-year-old ace is targeting a late-May return to New York’s starting rotation, barring any setbacks.
  • CHC First Baseman #41
Wow. The 33-year-old veteran was having a solid start to the regular season slashing .270/.341/.432 with a homer and six RBI. It appears that the team wants to use Michael Busch more often given his hot start as well as Mike Tauchman, but expect Cooper to have some interest as he hits waivers.
  • DET First Baseman #20
This is the first time orkelson is not in the lineup this season, but a day off could be just what the former number one overall pick needs. The 24-year-old has gotten off to a slow start posting a .629 OPS and has yet to hit a home run after he finished with 31 round trippers in 2023.
  • BOS Third Baseman #11
This past weekend, Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters that Devers could return to the lineup on Tuesday, but that’s not the case. The 27-year-old is still dealing with a bone bruise in his left knee and it looks like the Red Sox are being extra cautious with him. Pablo Reyes will be at third base for Boston.
  • BOS Right Fielder #17
Good news for the 28-year-old, who was targeting a Tuesday return and stayed on schedule. O’Neill should provide Boston an offensive spark in the middle of the lineup as he boasts a .313 batting average through 15 games played this season.
  • CIN Relief Pitcher #50
After opening the season on the injured list, Moll will join Cincinnati’s bullpen mix that has been middle of the pack so far posting a 3.92 team ERA, which ranks 16th among MLB. The 32-year-old veteran pitched a career-high 62 1/3 innings with the Athletics and Reds last season with a 3.03 ERA and 68/30 K/BB ratio.
  • BAL Left Fielder #13
It’s official. Kjerstad will join the O’s active roster after the team placed Austin Hays on the injured list. The 25-year-old outfielder has excelled at the Triple-A level this season where he’s posted a .349 average and 1.176 OPS along with 10 round trippers. If he’s still available on waivers, he’s definitely worth a stash as the young prospects in Baltimore, minus Jackson Holliday, have gotten off to hot starts in the majors.
  • NYY Second Baseman #26
The team was targeting LaMahieu to make a rehab assignment tonight and it looks like they are right on schedule with the 35-year-old. LaMahieu has been recovering from a fractured foot he suffered in the spring and could be a nice boost for the Yankees’ offense who have scored zero runs in two of their past three games. It’s unclear when he’ll make his return to the active roster, but this is a step in the right direction for the veteran infielder.
  • BAL Starting Pitcher #49
Suárez won for the first time since June 23, 2016, when he outpitched the Pirates’ Jon Niese in a 5-3 victory for the Giants. It’s so long ago that no member of either team’s starting lineup is currently active in the majors (although both Starling Marte and Brandon Crawford did appear off the bench that day). Suárez got 16 missed swings tonight, half of them coming on his 94-mph fastball. He’s not guaranteed much additional time in the rotation with Kyle Bradish due back soon, but he should be a nice play if he gets to face the A’s on Sunday.
